20 Years of Evangelistic ministry under the tent, in churches and home prayer meetings

INTRODUCTION

The New Testament Church is committed to teaching and preaching the Apostle’s Doctrine as laid out in the New Testament, and mentioned in
Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostle’s doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
The Church is established on the teachings of The Old and New Testaments. The foundation of Christianity is established in the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The teachings of the Apostle Paul stand true when he wrote Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.
The Church was originally founded on the Day of Pentecost in the year 33 AD when the Holy Ghost was poured out on 120 believers who had gathered at Jerusalem at the commandment of Jesus himself before his ascension; Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. These 120 were baptized in the Holy Ghost; Acts 2:4 and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. This outpouring established the government of the church and set everything in God’s Divine order: 1Corinthians 12:28 And God has set some in the Church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues; in conjunction with Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers. Jesus Christ is that corner stone mentioned in Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
The doctrine outlined in this document is not a compilation of man’s teachings but was given by the revelation of Jesus Christ rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

DECLARATION OF FAITH

1. All scripture is given by the inspiration of God (2 Timothy 3:16).
2. There is one God who is Eternal, Immortal and Invisible (1 Timothy 1:17).
3. God created man in his image and his likeness (Genesis 1:26-27) and gave man dominion over all living things (Genesis 1:28, Hebrews 2:6-8). On the 7th day God rested in man (Genesis 2:2-3). After sin, man took on the sin nature and became mortal (Genesis 3:15, Genesis 3:22-24).
4. Jesus was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:20, Luke 1:27-31, Isaiah 7:14).
5. Jesus was crucified as the Lamb of God (John 1:29), buried, and resurrected the third day (1 Corinthians 15:4).
6. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of the Man Christ Jesus (John 7:39, John 16:7) and has come back to take his abode in us (John 14:17) and lead us into the fullness of God living in us (John 16:13).
7. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and that we must repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and we shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38).
8. Sanctification comes through the baptism of the Holy Ghost (2 Thessalonians 2:13) and putting off the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that ye put on the new man which is created after righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:22-24).
9. The evidence of the indwelling of the spirit of Christ is the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
10. Healing comes by the stripes of Jesus (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24).
11. Jesus came as a man, as we are, but he committed his life to God in full obedience (Philippians 2:6-8) and therefore, as a man, conquered sin in the flesh (Romans 8:3) and made the way for us to enter into the holiest of holies (Hebrews 10:19-20).
12. The soul that sins shall die (Ezekiel 18:4) and that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Jesus became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21) and therefore his soul paid the penalty of spiritual death in hell for our sins (Hebrews 2:9, Isaiah 53:10) until the time he was resurrected (Acts 2:24-31) and was set above all principality and power (Ephesians 1:20-22, Colossians 2:15) and took the keys of hell and death (Revelation 1:18).
13. At Jesus’ resurrection he was born again (Psalm 2:7, Acts 13:30-35), made a quickening spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45), became the first born from the dead (Colossians 1:18, Revelation 1:5), and the fullness of the godhead took its abode in him (Colossians 2:9).
14. Jesus is now the flesh and bone man Christ Jesus (Luke 24:39, 1 Timothy 2:5).
15. Those that are born again cannot sin and have been redeemed from the carnal nature (1 John 3:9).
16. A believer is born again at the time of the first resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:51-52, 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Revelation 20:4-5).
17. The New Testament church was established on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4) and the ministry offices set in order (1 Corinthians 12:28). The church was set up to function with the five ministry offices of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers (Ephesians 4:11) with the foundation being laid by the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20).
18. The full reconciliation of God and man according to 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 which results in living and reigning with Christ a thousand years (Revelation 20:4).
19. After the thousand years reign all will be resurrected and stand before God in a final judgment where every man is judged according to their works (Revelation 20:12-13, 2 Corinthians 5:10).

PRACTICAL COMMITMENTS

Deuteronomy 10:12-13
12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
13 To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

Daily Relationship with God
Prayer
Man was created a spirit being. God is spirit. Prayer is the way man’s soul communicates with God. Prayer brings the renewing of the inward man (2 Corinthians 4:16, Ephesians 3:14-16, Matthew 6:33, Psalm 55:16-17).

Study of the Word
It is necessary to study the word of God in order to shew thyself approved; Scripture is profitable for reproof, rebuke, instruction, and correction to bring us to maturity (2 Timothy 2:15, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:2).

Attend the House of God
Believers are expected to attend the house of God for instruction, edification, worship and fellowship (Hebrews 10:25, Ephesians 4:11-13, 1 Corinthians 12:12 – 27, Psalm 122:1).

Submit to Leadership
The leadership in the church has been set in order by God, and the church should acknowledge and understand this fact (Romans 13:1-7, Titus 3:1, Hebrews 13:17).

Maintain Christian Character
The Bible outlines the standards of Christian life and believers should develop and maintain these standards in accordance with God’s word. (Deuteronomy 6:18, 2 Timothy 2:19, Ephesians 4:1, 1 Corinthians 4:1-2).

Mental Discipline
A central focal point of the Christian life is learning to let the spirit of God govern the mind. (Titus 2:12, 2 Timothy 1:7, 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, Ephesians 4:23).

Purity
It is imperative that the purity of the believer include his thoughts, words, deeds, behavior, and doctrine (2 Corinthians 7:1, James 1:27, Romans 12:1-2, Titus 2:7-10, 1 Timothy 5:22).

Diligence
Believers are expected apply the spoken and written word of God to their daily lives. (2 Peter 1:10, 2 Peter 3:14, Hebrews 11:6).

Steadfastness
The believer is expected to be consistent and faithful in all things. (2 Peter 3:17, 1 Corinthians 15:58, 1 Peter 5:8-10).

Tithes and Offerings
Tithes and offerings are a believer’s continuing expression of praise and worship unto God. (Proverbs 3:9, 1 Corinthians 16:1-3, Luke 6:38, 2 Corinthians 9:7).

Unity
It is God’s desire that the body of Christ strive together for the hope of the gospel. (Ephesians 4:3-6, Psalm 133:1, 1 Corinthians 1:10).

The year of 2018 marks forty-six years that Bro. Meador has labored in the ministry. Thirty six of those years he has been married to his wife Lisa. They started with almost nothing, a beat up old truck and a twenty-one foot travel trailer that was already worn out when Bro. Meador got it. The early years were years of hardships, no air conditioning in the small car or truck and the trailer was so old that it had lights that worked off of propane gas. The only time they had electricity was when they ran the generator at night to power the lights and sound system for service under the tent. Many meetings they didn’t have running water and had to haul water to the tent lot in barrels. These years created a burning desire to see souls saved and developed a strong faith in God. Through the years God began to bless them for their faithfulness and determination. God began to open doors for the ministering of the word and miracles became almost a daily occurrence as Bro. Meador was a man of fervent prayer and continual fasting. It wasn’t long before God had given them better vehicles and better living facilities and a new revival tent. A door to the mission field swung wide open, Bro. Meador had been to Central America but this was Sis. Meador’s first experience on the mission field. This kindled a burden in both of them which would have a life long and far reaching effect.

John and Lisa Meador

Biography of Bro. John Meador

Bro. Meador was born in 1952 into a family of born again, Holy Ghost filled believers. His Mom and Dad received the Holy Ghost around 1948. By the time Bro. Meador was born, his Dad was already a Pastor. Bro. Meador grew up in church where the Spirit of God moved in a mighty way in weekly services and also in the daily lives of his family. The healing stripes of Jesus were made manifest by the healing of many childhood diseases such as measles, mumps, chicken pox, not to mention broken bones and severe burns were all healed through the prayer of faith. His early grade school years were spent in revivals at churches and tent revivals his father conducted. There were many summer nights under the tents of A. A. Allen and Oral Roberts. The power of the Holy Ghost and the sight of great miracles seemed to have a mesmerizing effect on this young boy. He knew by the age of seven what direction his life would take. He had already begun to feel that drawing and calling of God to preach his word and minister deliverance.

His earliest personal experience was at about 8 or 9 years old when he would attend cottage prayer meetings. The Spirit of prayer would fall on him as a young child and he was able to pray prayers of words that were well beyond his years of wisdom and understanding. The next instance in his life was a few years later at a small country church in Tennessee where he knelt at an altar and told the Lord he wasn’t’ leaving until he received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. The Lord honored his faith and sent an outpouring of the Spirit in his life and his lips began stammering and numbness came upon him for about two hours. All through his early years and adolescence, his thoughts were on things of God and many times he would go into the woods and pray and talk to God. Yes he was a full blooded American boy and was into many activities, but his heart was always talking to God. Many times he would tell Jesus “I wish I could have lived in your days and seen the great miracles, I would have followed you everywhere.” Now he understands that it wasn’t for him to live then, but now. Not just to see the miracles of Jesus but to have them manifested through his own life. There were many other experiences that molded his life until he was 19 years old. In 1971, at the age of 19, he made a complete surrender and fully committed his life to serving God. It wasn’t long after he was saved until the Lord gave him a spirit of prayer. The hunger for God grew in his soul and he would spend hours in prayer and study of the word every day. He also spent days in fasting seeking to find and fulfill the will of God for his life.

As the dedication grew, he found a faith for miracles and deliverance was growing in his life and it was not long until people began to seek him out for prayer. This birthed a great desire in his heart for evangelism and a burning desire to have a tent ministry. The old days of great deliverance from his childhood began to stir in his soul. One day in 1976, as a preacher was preaching in a very large church that was packed with people, Bro. Meador had an open vision and he saw a man about 25 feet tall stand on the platform and cry out to him saying “come over and help us.” The man was a dark skinned man of another race and the burden for missionary work was placed in his heart that day. The early years were spent preaching on the street and visiting jails and prisons, hospitals and nursing homes. He went anywhere he felt he could use what God was putting in him to help people. One day while preaching on the street in 1977, the Lord spoke to his heart to form an evangelistic corporation and call it World Revivals, for He was going to send him around the world to preach the gospel! At that time he didn’t even have a car or any way to travel locally. His first tent meeting was held in Rome, GA, in 1978. He started with a small well worn 30×50 tent. He had to borrow $500.00 to buy it from a Church of God preacher. Bro. Meador preached his first tent revival without a platform. At night, after service, he would sleep on the ground on a bedroll and spend his days praying and studying under the tent. Before service each night he would drive to a local service station and clean up in the restroom. From that meeting the ministry grew and God has blessed him because of his hunger and determination to do something for the kingdom of God. It wasn’t long until God was blessing with tents, trucks, sound equipment, travel-trailers, all to be able to evangelize this country and around the world. Everywhere God sent him he saw lives changed and people healed and delivered. Lives have been changed by the thousands through one man’s dedication and determination to God.
